EOSA Self Learning Academy

“Sharing knowledge is a charity of knowledge that constitutes the ways of a beautiful life.”

— Nisa Cem Oren, M.D. FEOSA, Founder

EOSA brings together medical students from Türkiye who believe that sharing knowledge multiplies it. Active since 2021, the academy hosts lectures, runs interest clubs, supports research, and pairs members with mentors — all for free.

How EOSA Works

Four pillars of the academy.

One of the fundamental principles of EOSA is to live in a future where individuals maximize their power within their current area of influence. Therefore, helping others and sharing knowledge is essential.

Volunteer-Based Mentoring

Experienced medical professionals who are passionate about supporting the next generation exchange ideas with their mentees without any financial expectations. This environment brings out the confidence and supportive nature in participants, clears their career path, and brightens their horizons.

Collaborative Learning

The EOSA Young Leaders Project — weekly one-on-one English speaking practice between Turkish high school students and EOSA members, running every week for over 3 years. The EON Journal, launched in 2024, offers an open-source reading adventure where members share their hobbies free of charge.

Continuous Improvement

EOSA members follow an obligation-free curriculum schedule in interest clubs hosting competent researchers and specialists. These clubs facilitate the dynamic exchange of knowledge between mentor and mentee.

Research & Publication

EOSA members organize meetings about their research projects at regular intervals with mentors, evaluate gaps in the literature, and produce valuable publications. By primarily Team Lab-A, countless articles have been published in high-citation databases including PubMed.

Beyond Medicine

Environmental advocacy.

Our five teams are named after endangered species — Javan Rhinos, Amur Leopard, Sunda Island Tiger, Hawksbill Turtles, African Forest Elephant — to remind us what is at stake.

Rejection of unsupervised industrialization that endangers ecosystems.
Opposition to wildlife poaching and the trade in endangered species.
Climate change awareness — including wildfire prevention efforts.
Ocean plastic pollution awareness and beach cleanup participation.
Heritage and cultural site conservation.
Empathy toward nature and all living beings as a foundational value.
